YOU know how it's bad luck to say "good luck" to someone in the theatre, or put women aboard ships, well it's bad luck to sing Johnny Appleseed at camp. It is said to unleash bad weather. Well, the weekend before last someone must have sung Johnny Appleseed at the top of their lungs because it poured. Winds howled and it bucketed down. But, this weekend just past, the weekend of my Girl Guide unit's camp, the weather was heaven sent. We had a gorgeous 28C day and only a light sprinkle of rain Sunday morning. The guides, all 16 of them, went home happy, but tired, and the only drama was the plucking of a few ticks from scalps and bellies. I was so proud of them all. On Sunday evening I unpacked, put on a load of washing, soaped up myself and then packed for Monday morning's flight to Melbourne.
