THE baby beets and the radish are up. Something has already started nibbling on the radish. I will investigate by torchlight in the dead of night this week. Beer traps might be required, though I see no evidence of snails or slugs – there are no trails, nor tell-tale signs under pots and bricks. Sweet pea seedlings were planted. I moved a camellia and planted a grevillea in its place – a much better choice for the spot. A hydrangea was moved for the umpteenth time. How it’s survived my indecision, I’ll never know. Aggies were moved to make way for new plantings and to stabilise soil elsewhere. I spied snow drops pushing forth and what I hope will be early jonquils. The garden is bringing much joy.
