KNOW YOUR STASH
February 23, 2009
THE same day I bought the grey clutch and Japanese haori, I picked up this book. It’s a great reference guide for all types of fabric, where they come from and how they’re used, with a glossary of textile terms. The book has chapters in cotton and wool, along with other natural fibres and a number of manmade fabrics.
I teamed it with my “granny” glasses and a pair of bamboo knitting needles bought on sale for 99c at Spotlight a few months back. The backdrop is a gorgeous cable knit vest my grandmother made my mother nearly 30 years ago.
And check out the pic of a T-shirt with map of the London underground network. It looks a little like the maps from this post. I can’t say I’d be brave enough to wear a CityRail T-shirt with corresponding network map – the flack you’d cop over late running timetables ... eek.
