TRUSTY VOLUNTEERS
June 06, 2008YOU may have guessed by now I like old things, so a peek around Harper's Mansion, at Berrima, was part of a visit to the Southern Highlands on Saturday. National Trust volunteers manage the site and I loved that, despite the house and garden needing hours and hours of work (the volunteers are saints) someone had taken the time to cut big armfuls of flowers and greenery to decorate the rooms and found vintage linen to make up the bed and dress the tables. My pics are dark, but it's a dark house. That last one is of me. That mirror was great. It's convex so makes your head bulge.
