Feeding the hungry horde
SERVES 15
April 30, 2008TO have anyone to dinner in our household can mean cooking for up to a dozen, or more. My partner’s family was here for lunch on Saturday, so that was our six, two besides, four from one sibling’s brood and three from another’s. To have 15 around our table is pretty normal when invited guests come. The menu was simple fare. An old-fashioned 1970s-style sausage curry – cooked the night before – a rice pilaf, a contributed vegetable lasagne, a beans dish, potato dish, bread rolls, wine and ginger beer. We followed that with fresh baked banana cake, served with homemade caramel sauce and ice cream. You should have seen the washing up.
