When the world turns to shit, I turn to seven principles that have stood me in good stead for the past 30-odd years.

As a Guide I will strive to:

• Be friendly to others
• Make choices for a better world
• Use my time and abilities wisely
• Be thoughtful and optimistic
• Live with courage and strength

They may be rules Girl Guides live by, but I reckon you could borrow them.
