Dressing up
ESPRIT DE CORP
January 07, 2009OK. Home Girl is to blame for this, and possibly Skylark and Son.
I haven’t got a convenient corner, or clear backdrop for stylish modelled shots and don’t know that I could do it as well as Claerwen or Skye, or another favourite Lady Melbourne, so I suffice with showing off the bits of outfits I like.
The high-waisted gelato blue cut offs are from the Esprit brand. When I was a teenager Esprit was like Sportsgirl is now and anyone who had Esprit tees or shorts or espadrilles was too cool for school. In fact, I think it’s amazing both stores have been retrofitted with logos from their ‘80s hey day. And what about that Ken Done scarf? I have two now - one in silk. Oooooh. I paired the shorts and scarf with an oversized white tee, with rolled sleeves, of course. The shorts were a cool $3, the scarf 50c and the tee I found on the rack at BigW for $6. Total $9.50. The fun I have dressing like I’m 14? Priceless.
