I PLANTED a banana tree about two summers ago. When we moved from a very cold climate country town to a warmer coastal climate I was excited by all the potential that held for new garden plantings. Severe water restrictions curtailed my plans but I did add the banana tree and bucketed grey water from the washing machine on it. I have been rewarded with hands of bananas, which I think I’ll be able to cut down this week. Mmmmm, I can feel a delicious Vietnamese che chuoi coming on.
