WHAT was with the rain? I had markets bookmarked, cash in my wallet to buy up big at the cake stalls and book sales, and then the heaven's opened and plodding out to the nether reaches of the coast seemed a bad idea.

I did plough on only to be elbowed away from tables at what was my first visit to a well-regarded annual book fair. Miffed. I'd say so. I did feel a good deal better when I finally rolled in to my favourite seasonal book sale closer to home at Macmasters Beach. It's fabulous. You really should go.

Other weekend market scores were a bamboo-look ceramic jug and pair of screw-back earrings, in bronze and perfect for the '70s vibe looks I am seeing everywhere. I blame Paper Giants: The birth of Cleo and new series screening on ABC2, Swingtown. Haven't seen the latter? Do. It's like Melrose Place meets Mad Men for the 1970s.

  3. Thanks for leaving your comment on my blog! I love Mudgee so much and take any opportunity to visit my sister! We actually had a stall last Saturday night at 'Go Grazing' which was held at the race course - it was PACKED! Glad you liked Paper Giants too - I was the buyer/dresser on that production, was lots of fun to work on!

  6. love those shows - bring back the 70's I say! Great earings - I have some 70's wall art out the front and I love looking at it as I come up the steps. Bummer on the markets - hope the books were protected from the rain - do you have an impressive book case to house all you new acquisitins in. Have a great day !
