I PLANTED carrot seed in late April. I’ve been watching and waiting. I plucked this one from the ground to see whether they were growing straight, and they are. In our first year here I tried carrots and they went all over the place. This year, with better soil, I think I’ll harvest a reasonable crop.

  1. I saw on a TV show the other day that carrot grow crooked if there are too many stones or debris in the soil. I never realised.

  2. I thought you just plonked the seeds in and after a little bit, hey presto you get bright orange parallel sticks of joy. Prolly why I'm *not* a veggie grower... Make sure you show us the harvest and I like lashing of cream cheese icing with my carrot cake thanks!

What are you going make with them when they are ready? It has to be one carrot-centric dish! x
