SHORTLY after we moved into what the teens call The Povo’ House we planted two banksias out the front. Banksias are native to the area and we loved all the different varieties in the national parks close to here. We watched as our trees grew and grew, flowered and then formed beautiful sculptural pods. I have heaps of pods collected from where the council cut branches from banksias near a beach suburb car park. I display them like bouquets and give them to friends as gifts. Occasionally I am inspired to set them up on the table and draw them.

  2. Wow, that drawing is absolutely gorgeous. Why don't the teens like your povo house?

  3. The teens call it the 'Povo House' because it's not a mansion with all the mod-cons - and they're teenagers.
