Hello. I was hoping you’d pop by.

Let’s dive in and start with the name. Katiecrackernuts is a fairytale. Russian I am told, though accounts differ. The story was in a compendium of fairytales I read to my kids when they were little. Long story short, a reading of the tale ended with none of us being able to control giggles at the mention of the word ‘crackernuts’. Afterwards I became affectionately known as Crackers and some years later when I started blogging, katiecrackernuts, the blog, was born.

As for me, well, there are kids, four of them, all grown now. None are mine by birth, but with their Mum, my partner, we make a pretty extraordinary family. Grown, adult kids also mean there are grandkidlets. I’m Crackers to them too.

The NSW Central Coast is home but my work as a media and communications consultant, strategist and trainer takes me to Sydney, and beyond. I love my work. It’s true. I get to work with amazing people on amazing projects, and it’s my job to tell the world about them. Seriously, what’s not to love?
