ONE last tilt at the op shops before I have to head back to work next week. Talk about a haul. I'd been told about an op shop north of where I live but try as I might I hadn't found the time to hunt it down. I made the effort this week and was richly rewarded. I spent a good two hours in this place and had to make myself put things back on the shelves.

What about that Italian pottery; my biggest spend at $12? And Snow White as illustrated by Laura Ljungkvist; the cheapest at 50c? Jeans $4.50, sewing and knitting patterns 70c each, silk scarf $3, sewing basket and embroidery ring (with pattern and cottons, not shown) $2 each and souvenir plate depicting Rockhampton's botanical gardens - a magic oasis of my childhood - $5. The basket was $15 from a Red Cross store on the North Shore but that's an entirely other story, maybe for another day.
