OTHER times when I op shop, I send a little message out to the op shop Gods and then wait for them to deliver. They usually do, in spades. My last op shop prayer was for a pair of Levis 501s. Within a week I found a pair. They were too big. A week later there was another. Also too big, and the denim too faded. Then BINGO! They fit and were the right colour. My last pair were worn until they’d faded from denim blue to almost white. They were ripped in all the right places – each rip a conversation piece on its own – the hems were frayed and the seat and knees well worn. This pair has a whole lot of livin’ to do.

PS: The belt also came to me on an op shop prayer - a little tough love for the coming season - and the soft, dusty pink fabric has a 1950s feel and will be made into a top.
