IT'S going to be a wet and windy Queen's Birthday long weekend where I live so we're escaping the east coast low early tomorrow, leaving the adult dependents to fend for themselves, and trekking west to where good food, fine wines and friends abound.

I'd like to think the dependents will be cooking for themselves this weekend but, I fear, not even Miss Garbutt of the Good Housekeeping Institute could help them. My partner arrived home yesterday to find one of the dependents ironing her dress with a hair straightener. While wearing it. Sigh. Miss Garbutt, where did we go wrong?

  5. ah, sounds like a girl after my own heart. Don't tell her about the quick hem fix - wearing the evening frock while stapeling the uneven hem. Hope you had a good one. It was wooly here too. Have a great weekend! :)
