DO you find yourself cruising through your day, your week, your year, doin' the stuff you do, from time to time checking out your bloggy pals and then suddenly remembering your own poor neglected spot in cyberspace? No? Hmmm, just me then.

I snapped this pic about a month ago when I was riding high on op-shop finds like a stash of unused 1970s tea towels, a set of 1970s drinking glasses and a Margaret Fulton crock pot recipe book. My mum had also given me a cast iron casserole dish and I was imagining all the wintery treats I'd be cooking against a back drop of oven doors draped with bright '70s linen and jugs filled with Tang.

That was then, a month ago. It was hot, stinking hot. It was summer. Casseroles seemed a far-off promise of cosier, more comfortable times.

Wham, bam, thank you Ma'am and it's autumn. Bring on the comfort food.

  2. I love my 'croc o dial' slow cooker, he is green and brown and everything he cooks is easy and yum.

  4. Gosh, yes - I do that all the time. It's hard to get the balancing act happening all the time.

I'm very much excited by the start of autumn ... this is a wonderful time of year, just perfect for delicious comfort food.
