PUT the kettle on is an oft repeated phrase at my place. We drink a lot of tea. A lot. To that end we have a cupboard full of teacups and mugs and of late I’ve been amassing ‘70s stoneware mugs. I like the look of them all together and individually, they’re just the right size to cup in your hands.

And though we drink a lot of tea, and also have a lot of teapots, we have never had a tea cosy. I put that right a couple of weeks ago, buying a knitted cosy at a fete. Fetes are exactly the right place to find, and buy, nana-knitted tea cosies.
