WHAT’S the reason for the spring clean? Why, with the turning of the season, from the chill of winter to the warmth of summer, do we feel the need to clear clutter and clean up? It makes no sense to me. During winter we have to live indoors with the clutter but come the warmer months we can leave it and enjoy the great outdoors, so, I ask you, why the spring clean.

The primordial stirrings that prompt the spring clean had me clearing out kitchen cupboards and dragging half my wardrobe to the op shop.

And what the spring clean taketh away, the spring clean giveth. All that extra space in my wardrobe meant there was room for a few op-shopped treasures, including a much coveted pair of Levi acid wash jeans. Oh, Lordy, these babies are well worn in and so soft. I teamed them Friday night with these pumps and this jumper for a very Pretty in Pink theme - and I was only going out for was pizza. (Shhh, don’t tell my GF buddies, I am still in denial).

  1. I hear you. We've had primal Spring cleaning going on here for weeks, with no sign of abating. A word of warning: it's addictive!

  3. Oh Happy Spring Cleaning!!! It's weird the way the urge just takes over isn't it? I have spent the last few weeks scrubbing and clearing out, and like yourself that leaves space to bring home more stuff. One of the typewriters I sold on eBay recently was an Olivetti Lettera 32, well I bought another one,the exact same model at a garage sale on Saturday for $2, my husband will kill me!!

I'm doing a massive wardrobe cleanout at the moment, and I'm very much looking forward to finding more space in there to fill with pretty things! :)

  6. There is much in what you say, Ms Crackernuts, but don't you think bare cupboards look more depressing in the winter?
