I AM one lucky son of a gun because Fran’s parcel wasn’t the only surprise package that arrived recently. OK, there was an eBay purchase I’d forgotten about, but no, this was a parcel from overseas. There were exotic stamps and strange markings. This one was from Kaija, of Paperiaarre. You don’t know Kaija? Jump over to her blog right now and take a peek at the work of this bookbinder extraordinaire. The parcel she sent was from her advent series. I was lucky enough to select a handcrafted matchbox, and its contents, and I chose box No.15 - a typewriter brooch that coincidentally featured the letter K. ‘Twas meant to be. Thank you Kaija.

  3. Oh, I do love getting things in the mail and that brooch seems very fitting for you. I love the watermelon jacket too. That hole is miniscule! I like a good bed jacket too but I think this one can be rehabilitated!

  5. That's just all kinds of purdy! Lucky you. And sorry, haven't found any answers about onion weed. I don't really know much about lawns, all the landlords I've had seem to favour concrete. And why not right? It's so soft and comforting underfoot, not to mention lush and attractive - wait, I'm thinking of lawn!
