CHANGE FROM $50 - WELL, $60

I WAS going to end last week with a rant about how badly last month had ended but realised, as I was penning my rant, life wasn’t that bad and I should stop my wallowing.

And to prove life is good I had a killer op shopping spree last Saturday. My aunt gave me $50 for my birthday and I thought I’d take my fifty and see what I could do with it. I went $5 over budget but think as I start to unveil what was found, you’ll see it was worth it.

I bought a pair of boots, the linen pants and sun top pictured (as I was racing out the door to work), two pairs of Dynasty-era earrings and one pair Cyndi Lauper would have been proud of. Hmm, what else? A necklace, a fabulous ‘80s dress for winter (Skye, you’re going to love it), a piece of West German pottery and two teeny teacups that I swear have come straight from the set of Marie Antoinette.

Now, you couldn’t head to the mall with $50 and bring home a haul like that. Ta Aunty Pam, I reckon that’s $50 well spent. Now, what to do with the $50 from Gran Moore.

  1. Wow! It's so much more rewarding to spend $50 on an entire outfit plus more, rather than one over-priced top. Job well done for sure.

  4. Wow! A great haul. Well done. Our Friday op shop finds included a pair opera length white gloves, one shorter pair white gloves, and some amazing dress-ups for Minnie (a great green and white dress and some red shorts with braces). All said and done for 3.80!

Shopping like this is so much more fun and inspirational than heading to the mall... and you have another $50!
