I’VE broken this post down into themes. Generally, there's my Christmas freak out, which if you read yesterday’s post you’ll realise I’m over. The blog, family life and some decisions I’ve made.

Today, the blog.

I started the blog to give myself a creative kick up the arse. I hoped each post about a new project would be like signing a contract that once made public I’d honour. Nope. That’s not what’s happened.

What did happen, however, is I started seeing creative moments in my every day. The darling starashan made me blush when she posted a comment that said my blog had “grown” and reflected my “ earthy artistic side”. If that’s how people read it, I’m thrilled.

sketch said she liked katiecrackernuts for its variety. There are weeks where I feel it is anything but varied but I have started casting my blogging eye a little wider. I used to carry a camera with me all the time and I’m doing that again. I look for colour and beauty and gravitate toward blogs that share an “eye” for the world around them – even if that’s just the mould growing on the bathroom wall.

Tomorrow ... my thoughts on The Divided Heart.

  4. Ooh, Jen, while you're still online can you drop me an email to katiecrackernuts@gmail.com Your past email bounces and you don't have a blog for me to comment on anymore, so my attempts to find you have all failed.
