I’VE been tagged. This is the first time I’ve been tagged and this lovely blogger is responsible. Anastasia’s asked me to list six things about myself. Crikey. That’s broad. I’m going to follow her lead.

1: I simply adore the photographs and blog postings of Pia Jane Bijkerk. Actually, I adore the blog postings of so many people, but Pia’s little soundscapes of more recent posts are adorable. Take a look, and a listen.
2: I’m “super excited” about a series of stories I am doing on textile and fibre crafts.
3: The last movie I saw was Mamma Mia, before that Kung Fu Panda (with the Girl Guide unit I lead) and before that The Painted Veil.
4: The last book I read was a biography about Aussie woman and artist Margaret Olley.
5: For dinner last week I made cashew nut balls in a tomato pasta sauce. All family members take a turn to cook. This has been a recent stroke of genius to cut the whingeing about what’s on the table. There’s been a growing appreciation for what’s being dished up since the household’s teenagers have been called on to do the cooking.
6: I dig Doctor Who. In fact, I quite like the science fiction genre, not that I’ve ever tried to read a science fiction book. The closest I’ve come is Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake.

Now, because I am relatively new to the blogosphere, I am going to be wicked and not tag any of you. How can I know who, and when, bloggers have already confessed their sins?

I will introduce you, though, to these bloggers. I check in on these girls nearly every day.

It occurred to me while I was “up country” late last month that this little blog community has become, for me, a cheer squad, think tank and crafting support network. My trip put me in touch with the kind of artisan women I’d not been around since moving away from a country community five, nearly six, years ago. We got to talking about how we draw together individuals to nurture us and inspire us, even if it’s over a cup of tea and a good chinwag. While I haven’t yet had the pleasure of pouring a cuppa for these wonderful bloggers, I thought I’d introduce them here. If you haven’t yet met them, pop on over and put the kettle on. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind.

Say hello to Anastasia Drawing and Dreaming, Kindling, Mel Bombardiere, Rummage, Starashan, Teacups on Treetops and Bird Bath.
