I CAME home Friday afternoon, changed into my running gear and went for a run. When I walked back into my room it was warm and the light was soft. My boots were at the end of the bed and the day’s attire draped at its foot. I am a Girl Guide leader and we sing evening taps at the end of each weekly meeting. The words start: “Day is done, gone the sun”. That’s what this little vista made me think. The last line is: “All is well, safely rest, God is nigh”. I don’t go to church and am open to all questions of faith, but long story short, this was a small moment in my day where “all was well”.

  1. I used to be a girl guide....way too many years ago now. I forgot those words - thanks for reminding me of them - reminds me of a simpler time in my life.

  4. There are definitely moments like these and often we are reminded of them by the simplest of things. Nice post.
