I AM a country girl so it was nice to head out to the Central West of NSW and spend some time freezing my butt off. I wrestled my way into my quilted jacket and donned gloves and a woollen beret to chase stories and light. The light didn’t disappoint and I am pretty happy with the 200-odd pictures I took. You’ll see more of those later, much later, when (I hope) they appear in print. In the meantime here are a few outtakes: the afternoon light on interesting brickwork; the typography of the “public bar” sign; an oil bar heater and lovely, worn rug from where I was staying; and, the trip back home through the first falls of snow. I wish I’d pulled over and taken pictures of flowering wattle branches heavy with snow. I’m a bit of a nervous Nelly on wet roads though.
